3 Serendipitous Moments of Beauty
Holidays can be stressful. With so many things to do, people to see and unrealistic expectations its easy to forget to notice the beauty that surrounds you.
Over the years I've learned to honor unexpected moments of beauty. This blog post shares exclusive insights into 3 of my serendipitous moments of beauty that now live in infamy.
A Funny Face To Make You Smile
A trip to the hairdresser is a sure fire way of turning a frown upside down. As an added bonus my hairdresser typically has a planter filled with posies outside her salon that I frequently stop to admire.
One beautiful spring day, her posy planter was filled with a carnival of spirit-lifting colors.
Nestled along the planter's edge were quirky pastel-colored pansies. I'd never seen anything like them before or since that day.
Their funny little faces were the perfect compliment to my giddiness following my beautification appointment.
Hustle, Bustle of The Morning Commute
To commemorate my jubilee birthday I wanted to do something special. Having a lifelong fascination with Impressionism and a particular fondness for Renoir and Monet, a trip to France was just the ticket.
Needing a travel partner I approached my cousin. She agreed without hesitation and a month later we delightfully relished a Springtime in Paris.
I only had one stipulation for our Parisian adventure. To spend a day at Giverny where Monet lived and painted his breathtaking gardens.
That fateful morning as we walked around the Arc De Triomphe to catch the train for Giverny I trailed behind my cousin.
Adorned in her powder blue rain coat with matching umbrella she stood out from the Parisians racing by us in their darker attire.
In that split second moment I snapped the photo that I subsequently transformed into "Morning Commute."
A Moonlight Serenade To End The Day
After spending a delightful summer afternoon in Stillwater, Minnesota, enjoying its wineries and fine dining, I casually strolled along the downtown sidewalks with my family -- peeking in windows and randomly walking into boutiques that tickled our fancy.
During our walk I serendipitously noticed a planter of iridescent blue flowers. Since my camera was close at hand, I snapped a few shots before being prodded by my family to catch up to them. Although my encounter with the blooming beauties was all too brief, their splendor lives on in infamy as "Moonlight Serenade" and "Moonlight Sonata"
Find Your Quiet Moments of Beauty
Beauty is all around us, begging to be noticed. We merely need to be aware and take time to observe. Even if only for a brief moment.
Its easy to find beauty that's grand and magnificent. My challenge to you this holiday season is to find quiet beauty that's subtle and unexpected. I promise, by observing these moments you will find peace and experience beautiful moments of joy.
About Suzy2point0 Creations
Using a mouse as my paintbrush I transform photos into stylized impressions of the subject matter. The 'soul' of the photo remains the same, yet I re-invent the image by accentuating its strengths and unique qualities. Thus, creating its 2.0 version.
